The following is an overview of five Indian politicians and four states in India which represent particularly egregious violations of human rights. The memorandum ends with two resolutions: 1: “End Impunity for Torture by Indian Police” and 2: “Prosecute Indian Officials Guilty of Human Rights Crimes.”

The following is a fictional speech which we envision Gandhi presenting on the occasion of India’s independence in 1947. It contains direct quotes from writings throughout his life which express his deep-seated opposition to the spirit of equality and a color-blind society which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. propagated in the true “I Have a Dream” speech.

The following is a brief overview of the 64-year history of independent India clearly reveals that, as the nation was established as a Hindu nation for a Hindu people, India’s minorities will either hang together or be hanged separately. This reality is starkly summarized by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, an investigative body of the U.S.’s State Department.
